Parentage Early Life of Holiness Hadhrat Al-Syed Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani (R.A)
Syed Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ) was a revered Sufi saint, scholar, and spiritual guide of the Qadiriyyah Sufi Order. He was the rightful successor and spiritual heir of Ghaus-ul-Azam Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ) and played a vital role in spreading the teachings of Islamic spirituality, divine love, and self-purification in the modern era.
A direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through the noble lineage of Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ), Syed Tahir Allauddin (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ) carried the light of his ancestors and became a beacon of Islamic guidance, wisdom, and spiritual enlightenment for millions of people around the world.
His life was dedicated to uplifting the spiritual condition of Muslims, spreading the message of Tasawwuf (Sufism), and establishing centers of Islamic learning and spiritual reformation. His humility, deep knowledge, and strong connection with Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) made him one of the most influential Sufi saints of the 20th century.
The Ottoman Empire has been collapsed in 1920s due our collective blunders and conspiracies of Pagan West or Capitalist World. The whole Muslim World had been moved under the direct or indirect control of Western powers. Peril of socialism has come into being and devouring the Muslim World. There were only few waves of awakening among Muslims but it was not possible for any Muslim region/country to live or survive without the shelter of capitalism or socialism. After the so-called World War II, the world has been categorically divided into two blocs – Red & White.
At this critical moment, there was no politically strong and economically powerful voice among Muslims against this imperial and Kafir (non-believers) setup. However, according to their traditional approach, the Muslim Aowliya were doing their work. They were purifying the individuals and developing a thought among Muslims for centralized structure of Islamic World. The way was steady and gradual, however, penetrating and stable. One such group of Aowliya that was working (and also presently working) for the individual purification and unity of Ummah was SILSILA QADRIA of Al-Syed Al-Sheikh Muhyiuddin Abdul Qadir Gillani (Allah bless his soul).
The most effective and powerful among Qadri group of Aowliya was Al-Gillani Al-Azizi family of Iraq. They are Nuqabah (custodians) of Darbar Ghousia, Al-Syed Al-Sheikh Muhyiuddin Abdul Qadir Gillani (R.A.). One of the saints of this family, Al-Syed Abdur Rahman Al-Qadri, had also remained Prime Minister of Iraq. After the death of Al-Syed Abdur Rahman, his noble son, Al-Syed Mahmood Hisamudin succeeded him. He had six sons. The youngest one was Al-Syed Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani (R.A.). He was born on 18th Rabi Ul-Auwal 1352 A.H./ 1932 A.D. in Baghdad, capital of Iraq. He is the 17th descendant of the Al-Syed Al-Sheikh Muhyiuddin Abdul Qadir Gillani (Allah bless his soul) and 28th descendant of The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallal lahu Alaihe Wassalam).
Al-Syed Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani (R.A) was the Qutb e Dora’n (the greatest spiritual guider of the time), Ghous e Zama’n (the greatest spiritual helper of the time), and Spiritual Mujadid (reformer of spiritual set up of Aowlyia and spiritual training program).
Al-Syed Tahir Allauddin (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ) was born in Baghdad, Iraq, the spiritual center of the Qadiriyyah Sufi Order. From an early age, he exhibited signs of immense piety, wisdom, and a deep inclination towards spirituality.
He received his early Islamic education in Baghdad, where he mastered:
-
Qur’anic Sciences
-
Hadith (Prophetic Traditions)
-
Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh)
-
Tasawwuf (Islamic Mysticism)
-
Arabic Language and Literature
His knowledge was not just limited to intellectual study; he practiced intense spiritual discipline and worship, following the footsteps of his great ancestor, Ghaus-ul-Azam (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ).
He spent years in spiritual seclusion, engaging in deep meditation (Muraqabah), remembrance of Allah (Dhikr), and purification of the soul (Tazkiyah). This rigorous self-discipline made him a spiritual giant and a perfect guide for seekers of truth.
